SCIoI 2 - Cooperative Problem Solving

Weighing private and public information in cooperative problem solving

This project is in collaboration with the research cluster "Science of Intelligence" (SCIoI) based in Berlin. Prof. Heiko Hamann is serving as external PI in several internal projects of the SCIoI.

Main ideas of this project:

  • How do collectives of different complexities balance private and public information use to achieve high collective performance?
  • How do collectives of different complexities learn about which strategies to use to dynamically optimize private versus public information use?
  • And, how are the answers to these questions mediated by environmental complexity and sensory constraints?

This project is done in close collaboration with:
Dr. Ralf Kurvers, Max-Planck-Institute for Human Development, Berlin
Dr. Pawel Romanczuk, Humboldt Universität zu Berlin
